Search entries
A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Eaton County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages sent to us
If you send an email or submit a contact message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share the message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Normal web systems can record limited technical details when a page loads. This information helps the site function and shows broad usage patterns. It may include:
- the internet protocol address used for the visit;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages opened and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when supplied; and
- the date and time of each request.
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or removed. Turning them off may change how some site features or third-party tools behave.
Purposes for Using Data
Collected information is used only for ordinary site operations and service improvement. These uses include:

- sending a search request to the appropriate partner service;
- understanding which Eaton County record pages visitors use;

Privacy Beyond This Site
Links may lead to Eaton County release-record resources, Sheriff pages, Michigan Department of Corrections portals, federal tools, and outside search services. Once you leave, the destination’s privacy policy controls its collection and use of data. Review that policy before submitting personal details.
Some advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking takes place through the advertiser’s technology, not a record system operated by Eaton County Released Inmates.

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by the following parties when needed for the stated function:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics providers that measure site use;
- advertising networks that deliver ads; and
- law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Measures and Limits
We use customary safeguards intended to protect information handled through the site. No internet service, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or a breach will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. If a minor has submitted information, notify us through the Contacts page so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask us to:
- provide a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- erase eligible information; or
- stop certain forms of processing.
These requests concern data controlled by this site. Eaton County Sheriff, Michigan courts, MDOC, and search partners maintain their own records and apply their own procedures. Requests for existing county public records are governed by Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 et seq., and must be sent to the office that keeps the record.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as the site or applicable practices change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
